Anne Hathaway shows off dance skills by twerking to Nicki Minaj’s ‘Anaconda’ at Versace afterparty
Anne Hathaway knows how to bust a move.
The “Les Misérables” star, 41, showed off her dance skills by twerking to Nicki Minaj’s 2014 hit “Anaconda” during an afterparty for Versace’s Milan Fashion Week presentation on Friday night.
In a now-viral social media clip, Hathaway — who sat front row during the runway show with K-pop stars Hyunjin and Ningning — is seen twerking in the middle of a dance circle as a voice repeatedly chants on the track, “Oh my God, look at her butt!”
Her spectators, including designer Donatella Versace, enthusiastically cheered her on — though no one joined the entertainer in movement.
The rapper’s fans — collectively known as “Barbz” — took to social media to heap praise on the actress for her impromptu performance, for which she wore a black-and-white checkered crop top paired with a matching skirt.
“I love herrr she’s def a barb,” one fan wrote via X, while another chimed in, “A listers and bad btches in real life love them some Nicki.”
Others were just in awe of her ability to break it down. “SHE DROPPED TO THE FLOOR HELLO CMON MISS ANNE HATHAWAYYYY,” one person enthused.
Hathaway’s fun display came one day before she delighted fans by paying homage to her beloved 2006 film “The Devil Wears Prada” at the 2024 SAG Awards in Los Angeles.
She reunited with co-stars Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt to present an award during the ceremony, during which the trio recited iconic lines from the film.
Hathway also gave a nod to her character, Andrea “Andy” Sachs, by wearing a stunning off-the-shoulder Atelier Versace floor-length gown — in cerulean blue, of course.
“Given who I was presenting with, I asked for a very specific color,” she told The Hollywood Reporter, invoking the memory of a specific “Devil Wears Prada” scene with Streep, 74, who played icy magazine editor Miranda Priestly.
In the scene, the notably unstylish Andy laughs when Miranda’s assistant describes two similarly hued belts as “so different.” This prompts Streep’s character to launch into a cutting oration about different shades of blue — including cerulean.
She told Andy, who was wearing a blue sweater purchased at a discount, that “what you don’t know is that that sweater is not just blue, it’s not turquoise, it’s not lapis, it’s actually cerulean.”
