KENDALL JENNER GETS HER FIRST U.S. VOGUE COVER, SORT OF
Those rumors from February that Kendall Jenner had been pH๏τographed for her very first Vogue cover were almost true: the fashion bible revealed Wednesday that the young, influential model in fact covers a special edition shipping out this week to New York and Los Angeles subscribers only, bundled together with Rihanna’s April issue.
The 52-page supplement includes a new profile on Jenner that follows her during New York Fashion Week as she catches up with Tory Burch and Carmelo Anthony and preps backstage at Marc Jacobs. The topic on everyone’s minds is still, as the cover states, the model’s impressive social media following. The issue features images sH๏τ by Mario Testino and styled by Tabitha Simmons, including Jenner’s Proenza Schouler-clad cover, as well as images sH๏τ by Theo Wenner and styled by Sara Moonves. Moonves also styled the NYFW video starring Jenner, which the magazine released at the beginning of March.
The only advertiser in the issue is Estée Lauder’s Estée Edit, a new millennial-targeted makeup collection that launched this month at Sephora. And while Jenner is a spokesmodel for the beauty brand, a representative for Vogue said the issue is not branded content. According to WWD, the only new, original pieces of content are a front-of-book portfolio and Jenner’s cover story: the rest is repurposed pH๏τography. (Not an unusual practice for a Conde Nast тιтle’s special supplement.)
Non-subscribers or those outside of New York and L.A. can read Jenner’s cover feature here.
