BLACKPINK Rosé admitted to feeling out of place in Korea
Talented and gorgeous, yet BLACKPINK Rosé often feels like she doesn’t fit in.
BLACKPINK Rosé is now well recognized for her visuals and talent, to achieve the popularity she has today, the female idol actually experienced ample pressure in Korea, and often felt out of place and scared that she wouldn’t be able to debut.
BLACKPINK Rosé recently made an impressive appearance on Vogue Australia, where she not only boasted outstanding visuals, but also talked about her heart-wrenching feelings while training for BLACKPINK.
Born in Auckland, New Zealand and raised in Melbourne, Australia, Rosé has always held a strong pᴀssion for music. However, she has never thought about actually pursuing a singing career, and sought to become an art teacher.
However, with the support of her father, Rosé successfully pᴀssed the audition of YG Entertainment and moved to Korea as a trainee. It took her 4 years to debut as a member of the world-famous girl group BLACKPINK.
The singer describes that particular period of her life as a constant fight-or-flight experience. “When I got to Korea] I was like, ‘This is quite intense,’” Rosé recalled of her early months as a trainee. “I noticed that there were 12 other girls who had been training day and night for about five years. And I had just gotten there.”
At the time, the idol couldn’t help but feel estranged and anxious. “If I don’t catch up, I’m going to be cut and sent right back to Australia, where I’ve told all my friends that I’m dropping out of school and working on my music,” Rosé constantly told herself.
